The FUHSD staff spotlight this week is Lynsey Molina! Lynsey has worked for our district for eight years. She teaches PE and Foundations at AR. Lynsey currently serves as the Commissioner of the Coast Basketball League and the head coach of the AR team! Lynsey is from Cordova, Alaska, and used to be a commercial fisherman in Prince William Sound. She was recruited by HSU out of high school to play volleyball and our community is lucky for it! She has been married to her husband, Mike, for three years, and they are parents to a smiley, angelic two-year-old, Iolana. She enjoys spending time outside, hiking in the redwoods, swimming in the rivers and playing volleyball at the beach. Lynsey is an incredible asset to our district and consistently steps up to support her colleagues and her students!

As a part of their indigenous games unit, AR's PE class was introduced to an adapted version of the Afghan national sport of Buzkashi (adapted because it was deemed impractical, among other factors, to use an actual goat carcass in class)! Alejandra and Emily researched the game and taught the rules to their class before commencing two spirited rounds of Buzkashi that warmed everyone up on this shivery morning! #academyoftheredwoods #nativeyoutholympics #fortunauhsd #powerofplace #buzkashi
