To submit announcements, subscribe or unsubscribe, please email gwozny@fuhsdistrict.net  by noon  the school day before it is to run. Club announcements must be approved by advisors prior to submission. Announcements will run as long as we deem necessary unless specific dates are requested. 

ARPAC: Academy of the Redwoods Parent Advisory Committee invites you to Round Table Pizza in Fortuna 759 Fortuna Blvd (In The Redwood Village Shopping Center)  Wednesday, March 29th from 5-9pm. Round Table will donate a percentage of your order to the AR Alive Richard Scholarship Fund. Must show flier or QR code 

Room Change: Tier 2A with Mr. Stephens on Tuesdays and Thursdays will now meet in Humanities 129 (the Astro room) effective immediately.

2nd and 3rd Years ONLY: Concurrent Enrollment forms for 2023-2024 are available on the CR website, AR website, and in the office.  Please fill it out and return it to the office by Wednesday, April 19th. 1st years you do not need to fill one out you will do that in foundations. 

GMC Health Fact: GMC is planning to share one health fact per day in the daily announcements! There will be links attached to each fact if you are interested in learning more.

Only available in the yearbook. You may order a copy online with a credit/debit card or pay for one in the office with a check or cash. The price is $60 and we have a limited supply!! Yearbooks will be distributed Friday, May 19th and will be $65 cash/check only. 

Advising

Providence St. Joseph and Redwood Memorial Hospital Volunteer Program: The Providence St. Joseph and Redwood Memorial Hospital volunteer program is open and available to high school students. One shift a week, M-F, and a year commitment are required. There may also be an opportunity to help with other projects on an as needed basis depending on student availability.The process to apply requires the student to fill out an application, parental or guardian consent, and an interview. After the interview, if selected, students will need a health screening at our lab. The cost is covered and includes a TB test, MMR titer, proof of COVID Vaccine and one booster, and an annual flu shot.  Once cleared students will attend New Volunteer Orientation and training will begin. CR Career Exploration Day and Open House: The CR Career Exploration Day and Open House will take place at the CR Library/LRC (Learning Resource Center) on the main Eureka Campus on March 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Faculty from CR and Cal Poly programs will be on hand with information about how CR programs and transfer opportunities can help current and prospective students achieve their career goals. Local businesses and organizations can connect with current and potential CR students and encourage them to pursue the skills and knowledge that will make them highly employable in the future. Advisors will be on hand to talk to students about short-term certificate pathways that can lead to improved careers. Health Occupations programs and partners will be located in the AT building Nursing classrooms and Dental programs/partners will be located by the Dental Health Center to specifically reach students interested in those areas.

CR Job Fair: The CR Job Fair will take place at the main Eureka Campus in the CR Student Services Building on April 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local Humboldt County businesses and industry partners will be tabling with job opportunities for CR students, alumni, and community. CR is inviting local businesses who have staffing needs or potential internship positions to attend and recruit new employees on the spot. - Yearbook Scholarship: Are you a 4th year student who can’t afford a yearbook? There are a limited number of books purchased for those graduating students that can’t afford one. If you are interested please email gwozny@fuhsdistrict.net by March 30th. 

-Cal Poly Humboldt Spring Preview: Students who have been admitted to Cal Poly Humboldt are invited to Spring Preview, a FREE event designed for admitted students, on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023. This is a great chance for admitted students to make connections with their major, explore campus, learn about student life, and get hands-on assistance with taking the next step to becoming a Lumberjack! If you are interested in attending, complete the registration form here. Register by Friday, April 14th.

FUHSD Bus Schedule

Humboldt Transit Authority schedules are available at https://hta.org. The AR Office sells monthly bus passes from Humboldt Transit Authority at a discounted rate for students.

The Land on which AR is housed is part of the ancient homeland and traditional territory of the Wiyot people.  We pay respect to the Wiyot peoples past, present, and future and their continuing presence in the homeland and throughout Humboldt county.
