Student Services Survey
In your grade level Google Classroom (Class of 2026, Class of 2027, etc...) you will find a survey titled the "McKinney-Vento Act Student Survey". Your Tier instructors will give you some time in Tier this week to fill out the survey. While voluntary, we do ask that every student fills out the survey and here is why:
The McKinney-Vento Act is a federal law that requires and provides assistance for youth facing or experiencing homelessness. Our school district receives grant funding based off this law that has made it possible to purchase a washer and dryer for the FHS Wellness Center, upgrade the Clothing Closet on the FHS campus, and provide many supplies for students throughout our district including hygiene products, bus passes, gas cards, clothing and school supplies.
By filling out this survey you help identify needs for our school district which also allows for the grant money to continue arriving to help those of us in need of it.
Please note that the survey is anonymous.
Also remember that if you need any support, reach out to a teacher and we can help direct you. Or, if you check "yes" on the last question on the survey the Wellness Center at FHS will be notified and someone will reach out to you.
REBAR HANGOUT: Our final REBAR Hangout approaches! Join us next week, Friday the 10th from 3:00–5:15 in the Lakeview Room for food, games, and fun. All refreshments and snacks are provided by student donations, so please bring what you can, even if it's small or simple. Feel free to drop off food, drinks, or games in the office before school and REBAR members will deliver them to the Lakeview Room. Let's make this last hangout count!
BUS SERVICE 4/6-4/10: There will be no outlying bus service from April 6- April 10 during Fortuna High Spring Break. Bus service will still be provided between AR and Fortuna High School. Please plan accordingly.
Summer Exchange: Are You Interested In A Summer Exchange Program In The USA? Complete this form to share your interest in the following programs and receive more information when the applications open! Pathfinder: NextGen Careers in Oxford, OH, Lewis and Clark: Then and Now (Portland, OR), and The Table We Share: Food and Culture in Chicago, IL.
Mosquito Season is Here! With the warmer weather, mosquitoes are starting to show up more around campus. To keep those pesky bites away, we recommend wearing long sleeves, pants, or layers when possible. Also, feel free to use whatever insect repellent you’re comfortable with. Stay protected and stay comfortable!

We will be painting rocks to leave around the campus to make it rock a little more!!!! Rocks and paint will be supplied at the meeting for all to come by and paint. So you can paint a couple to leave around campus or take them home. We hope to see you sediment-arilly because it's gonna be marble-ous! If you have any questions you can email anjonescurrent27@fuhsdistrict.net. Stay solid!
POETRY SLAM: The Redwood Poets Society is excited to invite you to our first annual poetry slam, "A Forest of Voices" , on April 10th from 5:30–8:30 PM in the CAC Theater. Everyone is welcome to attend.
We are currently looking for students who would like to share poetry at the event. If you’re interested in performing, please sign up and include the poems you’d like to present (or an estimate of how many). Your pieces do not have to be original, just be sure to give proper credit if you are presenting someone else’s work. You do not have to memorize the poem!!!! If performing isn’t your thing, you can still participate by submitting your poetry through the form to be read by one of our club members. This is a great way to have your voice included without being on stage.
Schedule (3:00 to 4:00 PM unless noted)
4/1 after school in AC
4/8 after school and lunch in AC
4/9 rehearsal in CAC theater
4/10 5:30 to 8:30 PM CA Theater Poetry Event
