WAVE AWARD: Congratulations to Academy of the Redwoods students and Access Humboldt for winning a WAVE Award in the Government Access category for their interview of Assemblyman Chris Rogers last spring.
The WAVE Awards, announced last week during the Alliance for Community Media West Conference & Trade Show, are annual awards that recognize excellence in community-produced television across Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, and New Mexico.
AR students who interviewed Assemblyman Rogers include Emily Pinck, Mackenzie Wall, Neomiah Thompson, Kopely Denny, Annabelle Wright, Ashlee Dunlap, and Citlaly Angon. The interview moderator was Paul Bressoud and the program was produced by Access Humboldt's Matt Knight.
If you missed the program last spring you can watch it here on Access Humboldt:

REBAR HANGOUT: Our penultimate REBAR Hangout approaches! Join us next week, Friday the 27th from 3:00–5:30 in the Lakeview Room for food, games, and fun. All refreshments and snacks are provided by student donations, if we can get a lot of small things brought in, it will add up, so please bring what you can. Feel free to drop off food, drinks, or games in the office before school and REBAR members will deliver them to the Lakeview Room. This is the last Hangout most 4th years will be able to attend before graduation, so make it count!

Now Recruiting Student REBAR Members!
We are currently looking for student members to join REBAR! This is a great opportunity to get involved, gain valuable experience, and make a meaningful impact in our school community.
If you're interested, please complete the attached application and submit it by Friday, March 13th.
We look forward to reviewing your applications!
REBAR Advisors
FOLKLORICO BAILE: Hello, I am collaborating with the advisor of Latino Student Union to possibly perform a traditional Folklorico baile. We are currently trying to gather students who are interested (both CR and AR students) so we are holding an information day on March 2 from 4-5pm to see the people interested and possibly decide on a practice time. I encourage everyone to join us even if you are unsure. We need people interested in order for this to happen. I also have attached a form to know an estimate on how many students are interested.
Reach out to me at kapozosdominguez@fuhsdistrict.net with any questions or concerns.
STUDENT COMICS: The Redwood Review is looking for student comics! We would love to print your art. If you could get a comic to us before February 27th, we would greatly appreciate it! Please email Anaya (ancard27@fuhdistrict.net) with any questions.
